Not all faculty have received training on health equity and social factors that undermine patient outcomes. Yet, the Future of Nursing 2020-2030 Report is calling on educators to graduate future nurses who “have a sophisticated understanding of social needs, Social Determinants of Health (SDOH), and health equity” and are “capable of applying this knowledge.” This session highlights the work of colleagues who are creating learning environments that strengthen the preparedness of students to address the social determinants of health. Nurse educators who seek to co-create experiences that advance health equity will want to attend this session.
