Program Description

This series will provide participants with an opportunity to explore varying and diverse perceptions, as well as gather insight regarding cultural influences that impact their professional practices in the workplace. Participants will examine the social and psychological processes in fostering a culturally inclusive work environment through compassionate, perceptive, and holistic support that promotes mutual respect, care, and success for colleagues and self.

Program Outcomes

  • Identify values of care that consider culture and individual experience when communicating with students and colleagues to promote professionalism.
  • Examine the impact of perception and insight on professional practices in the work environment.
  • Evaluate personal and professional bias to promote a culturally inclusive workplace environment.

Courses Offered in this Program

CUL211 - Inclusive Organizational Culture

This course is the first in the DEI Foundational Concepts Series. Participants will examine Chamberlain Care principles that foster a culturally inclusive work environment through compassionate, perceptive, and holistic support promoting mutual respect, care, and success for colleagues and self. (1.5 Contact Hours) 

CUL212 - Personal and Professional Bias

This course is the second in the DEI Foundational Series. Participants will have an opportunity to explore varying and diverse perceptions, as well as gather insight regarding cultural influences that impact their professional practices in the workplace. (1.5 Contact Hours)  Prerequisite: CUL211

CUL213 - Diverse Groups and Self-Perception

This course is the third in the DEI Foundational Series. Participants will explore how an appreciation for diverse groups and an understanding of one’s own perceptions impact how they view diversity, equity, and inclusion in their personal and professional lives. (1.5 Contact Hours) Prerequisite: CUL212

CUL214 - Cultural Implications and Professionalism

This course is the fourth in the DEI Foundational Concepts series. Participants will have an opportunity to examine the cultural aspects that affect conflict management and productive communication strategies in the workplace. (1.5 Contact Hours)  Prerequisite: CUL213
